New methodology MetalRem S

According to the EU Environmental Technology Verification methodology, a Quick scan of the MetalRem S technology was carried out. The principle of the technology is based on the application of sulphidated nano zerovalent iron in combination with thermally stabilized sewage sludge for immobilization of Cd, Pb and Zn in contaminated soils. Both materials can be incorporated into the soil easily, without the need for complex mechanization, and the use of sewage sludge as a waste product from wastewater treatment is also an advantage. The addition of these materials also leads not only to a reduction in the solubility of metal contaminants but also promotes the development of soil bacteria and improves living conditions for earthworms.

The certificate and detailed information on the technology can be found at: MetalRem S "Technologie aplikace sulfidovaného elementárního nanoželeza s termicky stabilizovaným čistírenským kalem pro imobilizaci Cd, Pb a Zn v kontaminovaných půdách" (zenodo.org).
