New verified technology MetalRem Cr

We present a new verified MetalRem Cr technology based on the application of waste material from ductile iron machining in combination with an organic substrate for the in situ removal of Cr(VI) and other metal(loid)s from groundwater. The cast iron chips promote in situ chemical reduction (ISCR), and the glycerol promotes the growth of anaerobic bacteria. Combined application of ferrous iron and organic substrate then provides synergistic effects for both methods, with simultaneous reduction of Cr(VI) and reuse of applied Fe(0).

The certificate and detailed information on the technology can be found at: Technologie MetalRem Cr – aplikace odpadního materiálu z obrábění tvárné litiny v kombinaci s organickým substrátem pro odstranění šestimocného chromu a dalších (polo)kovů z podzemních vod in situ (zenodo.org).
