On April 15, 2024, the researchers of the MetalRem project organized a workshop on the topic of Remediation of soils and groundwater using iron-based particles, which was presented to the professional public. Results obtained from the field experiments within a frame of the MetalReam project were presented, with a focus on remediation of the surface soil and groundwater. Also, a general overview of the use of iron-based materials for the immobilization of metallic contaminants in soils was provided.
The event took place at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and was attended by representatives of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Research Institute for Water and the Environment in Oslo, Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, Dekonta, Ltd., Charles University, Palacký University in Olomouc, the Ministry of the Environment and the Czech Environmental Inspectorate.
